ArtReach in Atlanta

In partnership with the Youth Art Connection, the arts and cultural enrichment program of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA) a learning experience in the use of creative expressive arts activities was offered to 36 directors and staff of the 21 Metro Atlanta Clubs.

By training these participants, who touch lives of countless numbers of underserved and often displaced children, such as the Katrina evacuees, the benefits of the workshops increase exponentially.

The program was held around the time of Martin Luther King's birthday celebration, so much of that hopeful energy filled the air.

A quote we used in the workshop:

“Occasionally in life there are those moments of unutterable fulfillment which cannot be completely explained by those symbols called words. Their meanings can only be articulated by the inaudible language of the heart. “

- The Revered Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in his address upon receipt of the Nobel Peace Prize, Oslo, Norway, December 11, 1964
