Over the last 17 years The ArtReach Foundation® has impacted over one million children and teachers combined around the world.
ArtReach training is conducted as experiential workshops for teachers, social workers and professional caregivers of children with trauma. The war in Bosnia from 1992-1995 killed approximately 12,000 children and left many times that number with lives that would never be the same. It was for these children of war that The ArtReach Foundation® (ArtReach) was originally created. 17 years later, the benefits of ArtReach’s therapeutic programs have stretched farther into the world. Thousands of children, who have experienced trauma in all forms, have been assisted in moving from traumatized to transformed through these programs. In the first five years over 250,000 children and teachers in Bosnia benefited from ArtReach programs.
Training in how to use creative activities through the use of the ArtReach Model®, meant that hope, empowerment and wellbeing can be restored.
The benefits of ArtReach long survive the departure of their training teams. ArtReach’s “Train the Trainers” program prepares a select cadre of talented members of the local professional community to become regional ArtReach trainers. A professional training other professionals is a proven model that can have an effect on a large and diverse population, ensure sustainability of the model, and leverage financial and human resources. ArtReach further ensures its sustainability by providing ongoing supervision and mentoring for these regional trainers until they are able to continue the work on their own. ArtReach programs provide children with assistance in their ability to concentrate.
